SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN FOR LIVING, A 20TH CENTURY NORDIC DESIGN RETROSPECTIVE AT ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK 2016

„In 1951 the exhibition, Scandinavian Design for Living, was held at Heal’s Furniture Showroom in London. Though the exhibition was comparatively small in international exposure, it marked the first time that the term SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN was used to describe collectively furniture and lighting design from Scandinavian coutries, helping to bring into existence the concept of Scandinavian Design.”

At this year’s Romanian Design Week edition, there was a special focus on the Nordic Countries, therefore Eclecticó Studio organized a pop-up retrospective with it’s own selection of Scandinavian Design items.

The gallery featured a large variety of different 20th Century Design Icons created by Hans Wegner, Ole Wanscher, Kai Kristiansen, Niels Otto Moller, Poul Henningsen, Einar Johansen, Tapio Wirkkala, Niels Gammelgaard, Juul Kristensen, Kristian Solmer Vedel and many more.
